Encantamar Condos (ENC) and Encantamar Townhomes (ENT) are one and the same even though they are listed as separate entities in the California Regional MLS.

Encantamar is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Camino Del Avion and Street of the Golden Lantern in the Dana Hills neighborhood of Dana Point, CA 92629. Encantamar is a 187-unit condo/townhome project or 2- and 3-bedroom units measuring 1100 – 2400 sq. ft. and built 1988-1989. Every unit includes either a one- or two-car garage, and comes with a wood-burning fireplaces with gas starters. Most units use gas logs. Encantamar is secured by two gates; the Encantamar entrance is off of Camino Del Avion, and the Terra Vista entrance is off of Golden Lantern. The streets within Encantamar include La Paloma, Logo Vista, Los Cabos, Terra Vista, Veracruz and Vista Del Mar. Encantamar’s amenities include a clubhouse with meeting room, exercise equipment room, pool and spa. The Dana Hills Tennis Center is immediately adjacent to, and partially surrounded by, Encantamar. Because Encantamar is situated atop one of the highest hills of the Dana Point peninsula, many Encantamar units offer lovely distant ocean views and majestic sunsets.

Encantamar is in the Capistrano Unified School District, and the local schools include Del Obispo Elementary School, Marco Forster Middle School, and Dana Hills High School. Other popular school in the area include Capistrano Valley Christian Schools. And Saddleback Community College is nearby in Mission Viejo. Marco Forster Jr. High and Dana Hills High School are both an easy 3- to 4-block walk from Encantamar.

In 2012, all the plumbing in the entire complex was upgraded. That improvement caused an increase in the monthly HOA. All pavement was resurfaced 2013-2014. A typical Encantamar unit currently pays about $374/month HOA fees, which includes trash removal, exterior maintenance, and gardeners. We are unaware of any pending assessments. City of Dana Point offices and the Orange County Sheriff substation is located about 5 blocks away from Encantamar near the intersection of Street of the Golden Lantern and Stonehill Drive, across from Dana Hills High School.

Conveniences: Encantamar is located at the southeast corner of Street of the Golden Lantern and Camino Del Avion. To the immediate west, across Golden Lantern and on the southwest corner of Golden Lantern and Camino Del Avion is a recently remodeled shopping center anchored by Ralph’s and CVS. That center also includes AT&T, Bank of America, Choya Japanese restaurant, Burger King, El Pollo Loco, I Love Bagels, and Stix. There’s also a chiropractor, drycleaner, two hair salons, a jeweler, a mail center, an Anthony’s Shoe Repair, and a tailor. On the northwest corner of Golden Lantern and Camino Del Avion is another shopping center anchored by Bed Bath and Beyond, Cinepolis movie theatre, Fred’s Mexican restaurant, and Trader Joe’s groceries. That center also includes Chipotle, Five Guys Burgers, San Diego S&L, Savannah’s restaurant, Wells Fargo Bank, and several specialty vendors and professional offices. One Costco is 5-minutes away down Stonehill, and another Costco is located at Crown Valley near I-5. The upscale Shops At Mission Viejo mall is just a 10-minute drive from Encantamar. And so are the St. Joseph Mission Hospitals in Mission Viejo and South Laguna Beach.
